NOTICE: The 2024 event has been postponed until April 2025 to be held in conjunction with the Visitors Center 15th Anniversary.
Experience the authenticity of Cajun life at Swamp Life Expo – one of the premier events of the Atchafalaya National Heritage Area. The expo is traditionally held on the first Saturday in October, on the grounds of the North Iberville Visitors Center in Grosse Tete, just off Interstate 10, but will be celebrated, Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Join us for free, family fun along Bayou Grosse Tete! Enjoy a display of local art, food, and craftsmanship through hands-on demonstrations and cultural displays of the heritage and lifestyles of Iberville Parish. Sample local cuisine such as crawfish étouffée, gumbo, pecan pralines, bread pudding and more. Sing and dance to the sounds of traditional Zydeco music performed live. Demonstrations and exhibits will be open to the public including local crafts, oil painting, crawfish trap making, and cypress wood carving.
